BOST-CT SEMI-AUTOMATIC INLINE FILLERS

Containers: The BOST-CT fillers are capable of filling containers from 100 ml to 5 liters (4 oz. To 5 qt.). They will fill most rigid containers that have a smooth neck opening of at least 1 cm (1/2") and no more than 50mm (2").

Products: Liquids with viscosities to 200 cps may be filled on standard models. More viscous products may be filled wtih the addition of a pressure or vacuum fill system. Standard metal product contact parts are 304 stainless steel, product contact parts in 316 stainless steel and PVC are available. Standard hoses are PVC.

Operation: One worker loads containers onto the infeed conveyor of the machine and they are moved to the filling area. The sequence begins with the entry gate open and the stop gate closed. The containers are moved so that the first container is at the stop gate, which aligns the containers under the nozzles.

The machine operator presses the fill button. The conveyor stops and the nozzles automatically descend and begin filling. While the containers fill, the operator opens the stop gate and closes the entry gate. When the containers are filled, and overflow has started, the nozzles automatically rise. The conveyor automatically begins to move.

When a space is made between the last filled container and the entry gate, the operator opens the entry gate to permit empty containers to begin moving below the nozzles. When the space between the last filled container and first empty container reaches the stop gate, the operator closes the stop gate and the empty containers align below the nozzles. When the containers are in position to be filled, the operator presses the button to begin the next filling operation.

Filling speeds are based on filling water with a gravity model, all container openings are 35 mm.
*Based on filling round containers. Rectangular containers may have dimensions that do not permit 12 bottles on the filling platform. In this case, only 10 nozzles would be used and the speed would be at the BOST-10.

Accuracy: The machine will fill to a consistent level. If the containers are regularly shaped, the machine will fill to an accuracy of ± 0.5% of target.

Installation: The machine is shipped with the entry and discharge conveyor extensions and tank unmounted to reduce shipping volume. The tank is bolted to the frame, and the conveyor sections are bolted and the conveyor conntected. The machine is installed on a table (supplied by others). The product supply is attached to the side of the tank. The tank level switch is connected to the product supply. Installation set-up is approximately 2 hours.

Supply of Product: The product must be supplied to the tank by either a pump or a gravity supply. The tank includes a float with an electric or pneumatic level switch to control the tank level.

If the tank is supplied by a pump, the switch would be connected to the pump motor. The pump would go on when the level switch is depressed (low level) and go off when the tank is refilled.

If the tank is supplied by gravity from a larger elevated tank, the switch can be electric or pneumatic and open and close a valve on the larger tank.

If the machine is supplied as a pressure filler or gravity filler, the tank would not be included, but a pressure or vacuum system would be included.

Overflow: With each fill, there is a small amount of product that will overflow. The overflow is normally captured in a container (supplied by purchaser) placed behind the table on which the machine is installed and the collected product returned to the tank when the collection container becomes filled. An automatic system for the return of the overflow of product is available.

Change of Container: Containers are placed in the guide and the rails are adjusted for width. The nozzle position is adjusted horizontally and vertically so that the nozzles are positioned correctly above the container openings when they are in line on the filling platform. The micrometer nozzle adjustment permits the nozzles to be adjusted so that the correct level is maintained in the containers. Normal change time is 20 minutes.

Fill Timer: The machine is equipped with an adjustable timer to control the time of fill and limit the overflow. The timer is set so that the fill time is slightly longer than than the necessary fill time and it is adjustable to 0.01 second increments. The timer would allow approximately 0.05 seconds of filling greater than the time required for a fill to be sure that the level is reached on all nozzles and accuracy is maintained.

Change of Product: The tank is rinsed and test containers are filled to drain and flush the system.

Maintenance: The machines are designed to provide the user with a long service life. Critical parts are stainless steel and USDA approved materials are used to permit filling of food products. No special tools are necessary for adjustments or maintenance.

Utilites Required:
Electric: The standard electrical service is 115 v/60 hz/1 phase. It may be supplied in other configurations.
Pneumatic: The pneumatic system requires less than 25 l/min at 6 bar.

Personnel Required: One operator, unskilled to operate the machine.

OPTIONS:

Foam Reduction Nozzles: Recommended for products that foam when poured. These nozzles reduce the foam and the amount of overflow.
316 Stainless Steel metal contact parts or PVC contact parts replacing 304 stainless steel metal contact parts: This is for applications which require greater corrosion resistance.
Vacuum or Pressure Operation: For more viscous products, gravity filling may be unacceptably slow. In these cases, the filling system may be supplied in either a vacuum or pressure system.
A vacuum system includes a small vacuum pump on the overflow lines of the filler. This will cause a more rapid flow from the nozzles because of the low pressure in the container. A pressure system includes a pump on the product line and eliminates the tank on the machine. The suitability of the gravity, vacuum and pressure systems depend on the product characteristics.
Automatic Drip Cup: The automatic drip cup will keep the containers clean if there are drips from the nozzle.
Automatic Overflow Return System: This automatically returns product which has overflowed to the supply tank.
Rotary Feed Table: A rotary feed table will aid the placement of the containers on the infeed section of the conveyor to make the container loading more efficient.
