CONTAINERS:
The DNx-25-SD fillers are capable of
open top containers from 2 to 25 liters (half to 6 gal.)
They are normally used for filling containers from 10 to 25 liters
(2.5-6 gal) for most of their fills.
PRODUCTS
The DNx-25-SD models can fill non-foaming liquid and semi-liquid products
with viscosities up to 500,000 cps if the product will level off in
the container when poured.
Contact parts are available in brass & steel (standard), 316
Stainless Steel, Sanitary (3A) Stainless Steel, and Titanium to meet the needs
of most filling situations.
OPERATION
The operator places an empty container on the first filling platform
and presses the operating button. The nozzle opens and Fast-Fill
begins. When the Slow-Flow Weight is reached, the product flow is
reduced until the shut-off weight is reached and the nozzle closes.
After beginning the fill at the first nozzle, the operator places
the next container below the second nozzle and begins the fill. He
continues until all the nozzles have been started. At this time
he returns to the first nozzle, discharges the filled container,
places the next empty container, and begins the fill. He will
repeat this at all the nozzles.
The operator will usually place the lid before discharging the filled container.
The filled container will exit the machine and pass through a
pail closer such as out CLA-25 or RPC models.
WEIGHING DEVICE/ACCURACY:
The machine uses electronic load cells with digital indicators. The
load cell is incremented to 0.02 kg or 0.05 lbs. Fast-Fill/Slow-Fill
is included on the machine. Fill accuracy is maintained at +/-1 increment of
target weight. (To +/- 0.1%)
The standard model uses a preset tare. The operator will place an
empty container on the filling platform before filling and press the tare
button. This will be maintained as the tare for all the fill, or until the
operator tares another empty container. Automatic Tare for each container
is optional.
INSTALLATION:
The machine is shipped assembled. It must be placed in its operating position
and connected to the electric service, compressed air source, and product
supply. The machine includes its own filter, regulator and lubricator
for the pneumatic system.
SUPPLY OF PRODUCT:
Product may be supplied to the machine from a gravity source (elevated tank) or
from a pump. The maximum pressure acceptable on the product line is 3 bar
(40 p.s.i.). If a pump is used, it should be a non-surging type and
have the ability to limit the pressure at the machine product connections.
CHANGE OF CONTAINER:
When changing containers, the weight settings must be changed and the
height of the nozzle must be changed. The weight settings are entered
on the keypad. The nozzle height is
adjusted by a rack and gear system.
CHANGE OF PRODUCT:
To change the product, the product source is disconnected and the contact parts
drained. The contact parts are then flushed with a solvent.
The machine may be equipped with removable product contact parts to permit
all the contact parts to be quickly removed and replaced by a second
contact parts unit to allow them to be cleaned at a remote cleaning
station.
See Options: CIP nozzle, Sanitary Contact Parts.
MAINTENANCE:
The machine has a heavy duty welded steel frame. The standard paint
is a stainless steel pigment polyurethane coating which is approved
by the U.S.D.A. for use in food plants. The construction is open so
that it can be easily cleaned. Key parts are stainless steel. Most
system components are in protective enclosures.
The pneumatic and electrical systems have visual and tactile indicators
for easy "trouble shooting." An illustrated installation/ operation /
maintenance manual is included.
The regular maintenance includes lubrication of moving parts, emptying
the pneumatic filter regularly, filling the pneumatic lubricator, and
regularly cleaning the machine.
SAFETY:
The operator has an emergency stop botton to terminate the fill if
he sees a problem. There are no large moving parts.
NOISE CONTROL:
The 'A' level is less than 30 db at 1 meter. Cylinders exhaust
through mufflers inside the control box.
UTILITIES REQUIRED:
Electric:
The scales and solenoids must be conneted to a clean electrical source with
110-120 v, 50-60 hz, 1 phase service.
Pneumatic:
DN2-25-SD requires approximately 30 liters/min. at 6 bar (1 cu. ft/min
at 80 p.s.i.).
DN3-25-SD requires approximately 45 liters/min. at 6 bar (1.5 cu. ft/min
at 80 p.s.i.).
DN4-25-SD requires approximately 60 liters/min. at 6 bar (2 cu. ft/min
at 80 p.s.i.).
PERSONNEL REQUIRED:
One worker is required to operate the machine. The
worker will normally operate the filler, and place the lids.
