The fume cover on the DN1-DR-ID drum filler is intended to remove the fumes from the drum as it fills.
In consists of an inverted "bowl" approximately 125 mm/5" in diameter with a 25 mm/1" connection for an exhaust hose.
The exhaust hose is connected to a vacuum pump to provide a small amount of negative pressure.
As air is exhausted from the drums, it is drawn into the fume cover and exits through the exhaust hose when filling. It is set so that it is approximately 10 mm/1/2" above the drum and will also draw air from the surrounding area.
When the nozzle rises, the cover also draws fumes from the nozzle area.
