Containers: The LPGT fillers are capable of filling containers from 100 ml to 5 liters (4 oz. To 5 qt.). They will fill most rigid containers that have a smooth neck opening of at least 1 cm (1/2") and no more than 50mm (2").
Products: Liquids with viscosities to 200 cps may be filled on standard models. More viscous products may be filled wtih the addition of a pressure or vacuum fill system. Standard metal product contact parts are 304 stainless steel, product contact parts in 316 stainless steel and PVC are available. Standard hoses are PVC.
Operation: The operator slides the containers between the container
guides to the end stop. He pulls down the handle to insert the
nozzles into the container openings. When the nozzles are inside
the container, they open, and fill begins. The operator will open
the end stop to permit discharge while the containers fill. When
the operator notices that the nozzles are beginning to overflow,
he presses up on the handle and the nozzles close and rise.
He pushes out the filled containers, resets the end stop, and
pushes in the next group of empty containers. He pulls down the
handle to begin the next fill cycle.
| CONTAINER- | 500 ml | 1 Liter | 2 liter | 4 liter |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| MACHINE | Pint | Quart | 1/2 Gallon | Gallon |
| LPGT-2 | 600 | 450 | 300 | 175 |
| LPGT-4 | 1200 | 900 | 600 | 350 |
| LGPT-6 | 1700 | 1200 | 950 | 500* |
Filling speeds are based on filling water with a gravity model, all container
openings are 35 mm.
*Based on filling round containers. Rectangular containers may have dimensions
that do not permit 6 bottles on the filling platform. In this case, only 4
nozzles would be used and the speed would be at the LPGT-4.
Accuracy: The machine will fill to a consistent level. If the containers are regularly shaped, the machine will fill to an accuracy of ± 0.5% of target.
Installation: The machine is shipped with the tank unmounted to reduce shipping volume. The tank is bolted to the frame. The machine is installed on a table (supplied by others). The product supply is attached to the side of the tank. The tank level switch is connected to the product supply to control fill level. If the tank is supplied from a pump, the switch will turn the pump on when the level is low and off when the normal tank level is reached.
Supply of Product: The product must be supplied to the tank by either pump or gravity. The tank includes a float with an electric or pneumatic level switch.Overflow: With each fill, there is a small amount of product that will overflow. The overflow is normally captured in a container (supplied by purchaser) placed behind the table on which the machine is installed and the collected product is returned to the tank when the collection container becomes filled.
Change of Container: Containers are placed in the guide and the rails are adjusted for width. The nozzle position is adjusted horizontally and vertically so that the nozzles are positioned correctly above the container openings when they are in line on the filling platform. The micrometer nozzle adjustment permits the nozzles to be adjusted so that the correct level is maintained in the containers. Normal change time is 10-15 minutes.
Change of Product: The tank is rinsed and test containers are filled to drain and flush the system.
Maintenance: The machines are designed to provide the user with a long service life. Critical parts are stainless steel and USDA approved materials are used to permit filling of food products. No special tools are necessary for adjustments or maintenance.
Utilites Required:
Electric: The electrical switch will accept 110-240 v. for pump or solenoid
operation.
Pneumatic: If the machine has a pneumatic switch for tank
valve operation, it will require negligible compressed air for
operation.
Personnel Required: One operator, unskilled.
OPTIONS:
Foam Reduction Nozzles: Recommended for products that foam
when poured. These nozzles reduce the foam and the amount
of overflow.
316 Stainless Steel metal contact parts or PVC replacing metal
contact parts: This is for applications which require greater
corrosion resistance.
Vacuum or Pressure Operation: For more viscous products,
gravity filling may be unacceptably slow. In these cases, the
filling system may be supplied in either a vacuum or pressure system.
A vacuum system includes a small vacuum pump on the overflow lines of the
filler. This will cause a more rapid flow from the nozzles because
of the low pressure in the container. A pressure system includes a
pump on the product line and eliminates the tank on the machine. The
suitability of the gravity, vacuum and pressure systems depend on the
product characteristics.
